In order to meet the food needs of the growing population, the Department of Agricultural Extension has been able to produce bumper crops of horticultural crops ie vegetables, fruits and flowers in the past year through the transfer of advanced technology among the farmers. Jamalpur Horticulture Center under the Horticulture Wing has been carrying out significant activities in the expansion of horticultural crops.
In this program, quality seedlings/cuttings, seed production and distribution program has been strengthened among the farmers. 208,250 fruit seedlings/plants, 37,500 flower seedlings/plants, 7,400 ornamental plants/plants, 10,700 medicinal plants/plants, 17,500 spice plants/plants, 239,500 vegetable seedlings and special programs have been planted through the Horticulture Center in the last three years. 8000 seedlings/plants have been produced under this scheme. 3605145 (Approximately) tk.
